SUNY Fredonia鈥檚 Office of Student Creative Activity and Research (OSCAR) will proudly welcome student exhibitors and presenters as it hosts its 15th annual Student Research and Creativity Exposition. This free event will take place on Thursday, May 2, from 1 to 6 p.m. in the Williams Center. Approximately 400 undergraduate and graduate students will be participating.
Student posters and projects will be on display throughout the day. Oral and poster presentations will give students the chance to talk about their scholarly research and creative endeavors. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day and hors d鈥檕euvres will be available after the keynote address at 4 p.m. The speaker will be Dr. Michele Bernatz, a Fredonia alumnus, who is a current Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual Arts and New Media.
Preparation for the expo began in February, with applications for proposals submitted in March. The proposals were reviewed by Dr. Croxton with the help of the Student Creative Activity and Research Committee.
The event originally began as a science research exposition. In 2006, Dr. Croxton broadened the event, to include students from other disciplines. Today鈥檚 expo now features a wider scope of research and creative work of students involved in science, visual art, dance, music, humanities, business, education and volunteer work, and it continues to grow each year.
This event is open to students, faculty/staff, and the general public.
