The SUNY Fredonia Accounting Society is hosting three guest speakers as part of听its听Spring series: Buffalo News finance reporter David Robinson, White Inn innkeeper Robert "Mr. Manners" Contiguglia, and Buffalo City Comptroller Andrew SanFilippo.听

Robinson will speak on Wednesday, March 12, at 6 p.m. in Fenton Hall Room 105.听A graduate of Syracuse University, he has been with the Buffalo News听since 1985, having spent the last 20 years writing for its Business section.听This department generates over 1,500 stories a year 鈥 more than any other department 鈥 with a staff of just five reporters.听Specializing in corporate coverage, Robinson writes a听Sunday column which often examines Buffalo鈥檚 hard-hit economy, corporate leadership and prospects for growth. 听He also pioneered coverage of Western New York stocks and corporate compensation.听This free event is open to the public.听Light food and refreshments will be served.

Contiguglia will discuss the dos and don'ts of business dining etiquette at a special dinner at the White Inn on Sunday, March 16 starting at 2:30 p.m. This is the Accounting Society's听18th Annual Business Etiquette Dinner.听听Contiguglia听holds a master鈥檚 degree from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.听He is co-owner and innkeeper of The White Inn. 听Tickets are $20 for students and $40 for non-students, and may be purchased at the School of Business鈥 main office, E336 Thompson Hall on the SUNY Fredonia campus.听Seating is limited, and each attendee will receive a copy of the annual 鈥淏usiness Etiquette Dinner Guidebook,鈥 and a copy of 鈥淢y First Book of Business Etiquette.鈥澨鼴usiness attire is required, and dinner will feature an elegant, four-course meal of 鈥渃hallenging鈥 foods to enhance the learning experience.

The Accounting Society鈥檚 spring series continues听on April 16 at 6听p.m. with a program featuring City of Buffalo Comptroller Andrew SanFilippo.听He will discuss a day in the life of the comptroller for the second-largest city in New York State.听He first joined the Comptroller's office in 1973 as an Assistant to the Comptroller, and has held the position of Investment and Debt Management Officer for the City of Buffalo since 1980. 听He is a long-time member of the New York Government Finance Officers Association鈥檚 Banking and Investment Committee, is active in numerous community groups, and holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree from Brockport State College.听Taking place in 105 Fenton Hall, this program is free and open to the public, with light food and refreshments served.
