Dr. Natasha Farny of the School of Music taught at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, in what this summer is being called the Sewanee Virtual Cello Festival.
Unlike the usual on-campus festival where students play in chamber music, orchestra, and lessons, the virtual camp was a four-week program of lessons, studio class and lectures. There were 11 cellists who participated via Zoom from California, Texas, Kentucky, Arkansas, Georgia and New York. There were studio classes from three cello professors and heard lectures including 鈥淲omen in Music鈥 and 鈥淥ld Cellists Listening Tour.鈥
