Sophomore Stephen Hallberg crossed the finish line in 26:06.8 and took home the SUNYAC Men's Cross Country Title on Saturday. He finished six seconds ahead of the second place finisher, Oliver Melera-Perez of New Paltz.
As a team, the Devils took second place, just seven points behind Cortland (60-67). Kevin Moser finished ninth and Lucas Peterson-Volz was 13th for the Devils.
Hallberg became the first Blue Devil to win the men's cross country title since Vinnie Derocco did it in 2000. Last year, Hallberg finished third overall.
The Devils also finished ahead of fourth place SUNY Buffalo State University, thus winning points toward the Battle by the Lake.
