Dr. Rick Webb
School of Music Associate Professor Rick Webb has been signed as a composer/arranger by Keiser-Southern Music, a leading educational and concert music publisher for choirs, bands, orchestras, chamber music ensembles and solo instrumental performance.
Dr. Webb specializes in string orchestra arrangements of music by Black American composers of the early 20th century 鈥減re-jazz鈥 era. His first two published arrangements, 鈥淭he Castle Walk Rag,鈥 by James Reese Europe (1881-1919) and Ford T. Dabney (1883-1958) and 鈥淭he Memphis Blues,鈥 by William C. Handy (1873-1958), will be available to school orchestras in the coming months.
Webb has presented research-based sessions for practitioners at state and national music education conferences, is a frequent guest conductor/clinician for festival and all-state orchestras and serves as the string camp director for the SUNY Fredonia Summer Music Festival.
