SUNY Fredonia鈥檚 student-run record label Funhouse Productions is collaborating with the Music Industry Club to host a concert with Christian singer/songwriter Tina Marie Williams. A West Seneca, N.Y. native, 20-year-old Williams is known for her catchy melodies, energetic live show, and honest lyrics that reflect her experiences growing up through her teenage years.
Williams will perform in The Campus Grind on Tuesday, April 6 at 9 p.m. as a part of the Music Industry Club鈥檚 Tuesday night concert series. Williams will be performing some of her new songs, including 鈥淒ream Scene鈥 and 鈥淛udas.鈥 This show, like the others in the series, is free and open to all campus and community members.
With the release of her second album, this self-taught guitarist has fulfilled both the spiritual and musical expectations placed upon her when she won the 2005 Kingdom Bound Talent Search, a contest coordinated by the Kingdom Bound Ministries of Western New York with help from The Christian Festival Association, a coalition of over two dozen Christian music festivals across the country. This victory allowed Williams to play at the Kingdom Bound and 鈥淟et There Be Light鈥 music festivals. Williams has also played shows at the Tralf Music Hall of Buffalo, N.Y. She will be playing with California-based band, Sherwood, on March 18 at Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, N.Y.
Williams is currently working on a new project with SUNY Fredonia professor of music business and music producer Armand Petri, known for his work with national recording artists the Goo Goo Dolls and Sixpence None the Richer.
