The Fredonia Technology Incubator will be hosting its first trick-or-treating event, free and open to area children, on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Children ages 12 and under are welcome to participate and must be accompanied by an adult.
Trick-or-treating will be held indoors at the incubator at 214 Central Ave. in Dunkirk. The event will also feature 鈥淭eal Pumpkin鈥 non-food options for children with food allergies.
Registration encouraged at so organizers have enough 鈥済oodies鈥 to go around. The link is also available on the FTI homepage.
鈥淭his event is an opportunity for the community to interact with our entrepreneurs and students,鈥 said Monica Kemp, incubator program manager, 鈥淲e are pleased to offer 鈥楾eal Pumpkin鈥 [non-food] treats so that every child can feel important and included in trick-or-treating regardless of their food allergies.鈥
The trick-or-treating will feature the businesses of the incubator and Fredonia student organizations. Children and parents are encouraged to wear costumes, and the building will be festively decorated. There will be a costume contest and a variety of games to play throughout the evening.
Ted Sharon, professor of theater arts and CEO of Venture Productions, will have student actors portraying popular characters for photo opportunities with children. On display in the incubator art gallery is an exhibition by artist Shannon Taggart featuring Lily Dale and the subculture of mediumship.
