Communication Professor Nefin Dinc's听documentary film, I Named Her Angel, tells the story of a 12-year-old Turkish girl, Elif, who is learning the basics of a Mevlevi spiritual path. Mevlevis, also known as Whirling Dervishes in the Western World, are a part of the Sufi/Mystic tradition of Islam. International coffees and open discussion to follow.

We鈥檝e assembled a variety of exhibits and performers to stimulate your senses. Enjoy the dulcimer and the drum ensemble music performances while visiting the global artifacts display and the study abroad photo gallery. Gather information about studying abroad, getting a passport and participating in the SUNY Model European Union. The Asian Club will also be there to share their artistic calligraphy talents with us. - Cultural Shock Dance 8 p.m., Williams Center 鈥 The Spot a.k.a. The Grind
Learn the history of African, Irish and Belly dancing and then learn how by taking part in the free dance lessons! It is lots of fun for students and faculty alike! Free refreshments. - Cruise Around the World - 7 to听9 p.m. - Residence Hall Lobbies
Take a self-guided 鈥渢our around the world鈥 through the residence halls lobbies. For the fifth year, RAC joins the International Education Week festivities by sponsoring a hall lobby contest. Come tour the lobbies to taste what they鈥檝e cooked up, and read what they鈥檝e looked up about their adopted country.

- World Cuisine Cooking Show with Chef Dean 6 P.M. Williams Center Cafe G
Limited Seating 鈥 Reservations Required by November 8. Learn how to prepare Arabic and Middle Eastern food and then partake in the sumptuous dinner that follows. You鈥檒l feel like you鈥檝e been whisked away to the big city with the live jazz music ensemble crooning in the background. Reservations are required for this event due to its popularity and limited space. Call 716-673-3451 to RSVP. Cost: $22.00 per person. Students may use their meal plan; have your Fred-Card ISO number ready when you call. Payment is due with reservation.
