Lake Shore Savings has once again pledged $10,000 to support the arts in Northern Chautauqua County by returning as the season-wide sponsor for Rockefeller Arts Center at SUNY Fredonia. This marks the sixth consecutive season in which the Dunkirk-based financial institution has made the commitment.
The investment by Lake Shore Savings will once again go to support a lineup of diverse entertainment events. The lineup includes:
- The DFT Communications Pops Series: The Hit Men, a group of six professional singers/musicians who perform pop hits from the 鈥60s, 鈥70s and 鈥80s, on Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m., 鈥淏ig Band Christmas Spectacular鈥 on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and 鈥淕reat American Songbook, Part I: Commencement Eve Pops鈥 on May 17 at 7:30 p.m.
- The Kaleidoscope Family Series sponsored by the Observer: 鈥淩obin Hood by DuffleBag Theatre鈥 on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., 鈥淭he Gruffalo鈥 on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. and 鈥淧irate School!鈥 on March 1 at 7 p.m.
- The Walter Gloor Mainstage Series: 鈥淐hicago鈥 from Oct. 19-27, 鈥淭he Piano Lesson鈥 from Nov. 30 to Dec. 8, 鈥淪top the World 鈥 I Want to Get Off鈥 from March 8 to 16, the 鈥淭he Diary of Anne Frank鈥 from April 12 to 20 and 鈥淔redonia Dance Ensemble In Concert鈥 from May 3 to 5.
- The World Travel Series sponsored by Fredonia Place: 鈥淲ales Land of Song鈥 on Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. and 鈥淏urma: Reflections on a Hidden Land鈥 on April 6 at 7:30 p.m. The series opened Sept. 22 with 鈥淟ure of Alaska.鈥
- The Hillman Opera: 鈥淪uor Angelica鈥 and 鈥淕ianni Schicchi鈥 from Nov. 8 to 11.
- The Western New York Chamber Orchestra Classics Series: 鈥淏ach to Basics鈥 on Oct. 28 at 4 p.m.; 鈥淕enerations鈥 on Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. and 鈥淭he Consul鈥 on March 17 at 4 p.m. The series opened Sept. 16 with 鈥淢usical Portraits.鈥
Rockefeller Arts Center Director Jefferson Westwood described Lake Shore Savings as a 鈥渕odel corporate citizen鈥 that has done a great deal in support of SUNY Fredonia and the local community.
