Eight of SUNY Fredonia’s best student vocalists will help bring the 2009 Commencement Eve pops concert, Bernstein on Broadway, to life on Friday, May 15 at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall. More about the concert program>>

Selected through auditions held in March, this year’s cast includes:

Chelsea Grace Claiser, a Musical Theatre major and Dance minor. Her credits include “Children of Eden” (Eve), “The Credeaux Canvas” (Tess), Fredonia Dance Ensemble 2007, “The Bear” (Popova), “Trying” (Sarah), “Victor/Victoria” (Flower Lady), “Into the Woods” (Stepmother), “Marat/Sade” (Simonne), “Urinetown” (Soupy Sue) and “Romeo and Juliet” (Benvolio).

Rick Doetterl, a double major in Musical Theatre and Dance. His credits include dancer/soloist (Fredonia Dance Ensemble), “Urinetown” (Senator Fipp), “Victor/Victoria” (Carroll Todd), “The Rocky Horror Show” (Brad Majors), “Pippin” (Ensemble), “Bye Bye Birdie” (Albert), “Anything Goes” (Sir Evelyn Oakleigh) and “Songs for a new world” (Man 2).

Crystal Gramkee, a senior Musical Theatre major with a minor in Dance. Her credits include “Urinetown” (Hope), “Romeo and Juliet” (Tybalt), “Rocky Horror” (Columbia), “Victor Victoria” (Simone/Ensemble), “A Christmas Carol” (Narrator), “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” (Tragedian) and the Fredonia Dance Ensemble (2008 and 2009).

Kate Mulberry, a senior Musical Theatre major with a minor in Dance. She has been seen in numerous productions at SUNY Fredonia including “Urinetown” (Pennywise), “Marat/Sade” (Asylum Patient), “Cabaret” (Sally Bowles), “The Rocky Horror Show” (Phantom), “Proof” (Claire), “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare [Abridged]” (Player), the Orchesis in-the-round mini-concert and several one-act plays. She also performed for two years with The Fredonia Dance Ensemble as a dancer and an understudy.

Mark Andrew Reeve, a junior Musical Theatre major from Syracuse. His credits include “Romeo and Juliet” (Paris), “Urinetown” (Bobby Strong), “Marat/Sade” (Duperret), “Cabaret” (Clifford Bradshaw), “Tartuffe” (Damis), “The Book of Liz” (Yvonne/ Bro. Hesikiah) and “Godspell” (John the Baptist). Reeve has also performed with the Theatrical Combat Association, Orchesis Dance Company and has been seen in various one-act plays.

Amy E. Shake, a senior Vocal Performance major from Clifton Park. During her time at Fredonia she has appeared with the Hillman Opera Company in its production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” as the Queen of the Night. Her other roles include Donna Anna in scenes from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” Jack’s Mother in scenes from Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” with the Student Opera Theatre Association and Fiordiligi in scenes from Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte” with the Lyric Arts Italy tour.

Boris Van Druff, a senior Vocal Performance major from Olean. Boris has participated in a variety of choral and operatic works. His credits include “Little Shop of Horrors” (Seymour), “Hansel and Gretel” (Witch) and “The Magic Flute” (Tamino). He has also performed twice in the SOTA Opera Scenes, in “Die Fledermaus” (Dr. Blind) and “Don Giovanni” (Don Ottavio).

Jason Weisinger, a junior Vocal Performance and Music Education double major from Long Island. His credits include “Street Scene” (Sam Kaplan) and Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” (Second Priest). Prior to attending Fredonia, Mr. Weisinger was a Vocal Jazz Performance major at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
