Admissions representatives from more than 90 colleges and universities will assemble at SUNY Fredonia for a regional college fair on Wednesday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Steele Hall Fieldhouse. The event is sponsored by the New York State Association for College Admissions Counseling to benefit area high school students.
鈥淲e鈥檙e very happy to serve as the host site for this exciting event,鈥 said SUNY Fredonia Director of Admissions Christopher Dearth. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a great opportunity to host close to 100 colleges and universities from around New York State, the Northeast, and beyond and connect them with students from around the region.鈥
The gathering of college and university representatives at SUNY Fredonia will be NYSACAC鈥檚 first-ever regional fair in Western New York.
鈥淪ince the closest national fair is in Buffalo, NYSACAC has taken the opportunity to provide a regional fair to students in Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Erie Counties as well as those in northwestern Pennsylvania,鈥 Dearth said.
David Coates, NYSACAC president, echoed Dearth鈥檚 enthusiasm. For students, these fairs provide the ability to learn more about colleges which they are already considering, and offer the opportunity to learn more about other schools not currently on their radar, Coates added.
鈥淣YSACAC is very excited to be able to offer a college fair on the SUNY Fredonia campus,鈥 he said. 鈥淎 college fair is an integral tool in the college search process for students and families.鈥
