Four Fredonia students received awards at the 5th annual SUNYWide Film Festival and Symposium held on campus April 10 to 12.
Fredonia students honored included Maisy Keller of Kingston, who received First Place in the Experimental Category for "Infectivity," which she created in Associate Professor Phil Hastings' Introduction to Experimental Video class; Kyra Slawski of Wading River, who received Honorable Mention/Animation for "Bunny," which she created in Associate Professor Jill Johnston's Intermediate Animation class; and Jason Chadwick of Grand Island, who received Honorable Mention/ Documentary for "Wax," which he created in Associate Professor Hastings' Intermediate Experimental Video class. Kirsten Vine of Corning took Third Place in the Student Papers category for, "The Return of the Split Screen," written for Instructor Jeremy Culler's New Media Writing class.

Student Papers:
First Place - 鈥淏its of Jeanne Deilman in Irreversible and Hunger鈥 by Michael Fisher; and Second Place - "Spice World: The Masquerade of the Third Wave of Feminism鈥 by Kelsey Titus. Both the students were from SUNY Oswego.
