From "Junkyard," an animated film by Hisko Hulsing of the Netherlands
The Best of Ottawa Animation Screening, a traveling showcase of many of the most outstanding films from the 2012 Ottawa International Animation Festival, will be presented on Friday, March 15, at 7 p.m., at 101 Jewett Hall. One of the largest international animation conferences and competitions, the Ottawa festival is known for presenting the world鈥檚 most cutting-edge, quirky and important animation.
This 鈥淏est of鈥 program features a collection of short animated works that stood out as audience favorites and award winners from the official 2012 competition. They include: 鈥淏allpit鈥 (Canada), 鈥淎 Morning Stroll鈥 (United Kingdom), 鈥淭he Great Rabbit鈥 (France), 鈥淪unny Afternoon鈥 (Austria), 鈥淩ossignols en Decembre鈥 (Nightingales in December) (Canada), 鈥淩iviere au Tonnerre鈥 (Thunder River) (Canada), 鈥淚 am Tom Moody鈥 (United Kingdom), 鈥淕um鈥 (Canada), 鈥淧rimus 鈥楲ee Van Cleef鈥欌 (United States), 鈥淛unkyard鈥 (Netherlands, Belgium) and 鈥淯na Furtiva Lagrima鈥 (United States).
The presentation, brought to SUNY Fredonia by the Media Arts Club and Department of Visual Arts and New Media, is touring around the world from November 2012 through mid-September 2013. It is intended for mature audiences and is open to SUNY Fredonia students and staff.
