The Fredonia university women's volleyball team remained a perfect 6-0 in conference play with聽3-0 sweeps of Cortland and Potsdam on Saturday.
The Devils won convincingly over Cortland, 25-12, 25-16 and 25-18. The offense was led by (Rochester, N.Y. / Penfield) with聽11 kills聽and (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / Baldwinsville)聽with 10 kills. (Cheektowaga, N.Y. / West Seneca East) added seven kills and three service aces. (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Athena)聽had 31 assists.
Defensively, (Lancaster, N.Y. / St. Mary's) had 14 digs and DiChristopher dominated the net with nine blocks.
Against Potsdam,聽Fredonia won by set scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-20.聽Madison and DiChristopher had nine kills apiece, while Edinger added another 24 assists. (Hamburg, N.Y. / Orchard Park)聽had four service aces. DiChristopher and Edinger each had four block assists, and Hokaj led the team with 17 digs.
The Devils are now 18-7 overall.
"We were pretty consistent today, which is something we've been striving for," said head coach . "We seem to be more focused and we're making adjustments during matches more easily."
Fredonia聽will take on Houghton in Dods Hall this Thursday.聽In two weeks, they return to Dods Hall for the final round of Pool Play. The Devils will play host to New Paltz on Friday, Oct. 24. The Hawks are the only other undefeated team in the SUNYAC. Saturday, Oct. 25 will see the Devils tangle with聽Oswego and Geneseo.
