Veterans Affairs Student Application Checklist 

This checklist is intended for all military-affiliated students, including dependents of veterans.

  1. Apply for Admission at SUNY Fredonia.

  3. New and Transfer Students Complete:

  5. Submit , Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE), Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
    • Request a copy of your .
    • Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) VA Form DD-2384-1 is used to determine eligibility to receive the Montgomery GI Bill庐 Educational Assistance Benefits (MGIB). Members must obtain their NOBE from their service unit of assignment.
    • Certificate of Eligibility (COE) is sent to service personnel after confirming eligibility with the NOBE.

  7. Fill out a SUNY Fredonia to certify your enrollment to receive VA benefits.
  8. Transfer students must to SUNY Fredonia.
  9. Supply degree plan, for students receiving VA Tutorial Assistance.
  10. Visit the Veteran Financial Aid Information web page to use cost calculators and other resources.
  11. Visit the Student Accounts Office website.
  12. Contact Residence Life Office (if applicable) or call 716-673-3341.
  13. For National Guard and active Reservists, speak with your unit's career counselor and first-line leader about using additional state and federal benefits.
  14. Visit Disability Support Services for Accommodations (if applicable). For an appointment, call 716-673-3270.
  15. Complete the to access your campus email, use WiFi, , etc.
  16. Make an appointment with the (Veterans Only) or call 716-268-6030 to find out all your benefits.

    • SUNY Fredonia Veterans Scholarship
    • Courage & Honor Scholarship
    • Ronald L. and Marilyn M. Denison Scholarship
