The Fredonia Wind Ensemble will present an evening of passionate music making, featuring two works by acclaimed American composer Steven Stucky on Saturday, March 12, at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall.

鈥淗ue and Cry,鈥 directed by Fredonia graduate wind conducting assistant Sai Ceng, will open the concert and will be followed by 鈥淔uneral Music for Queen Mary.鈥 Mr. Stucky, who has written commissioned works for many major American orchestras, was resident composer for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra for 21 years and now teaches at The Juilliard School.

A selection from the Romantic period 鈥 Antonin Dvorak鈥檚 Serenade, Op. 44 - and 鈥淚nvincible Summer,鈥 by student composer Matthew Pellegrino, will conclude the first half of the concert.

Symphony No. 7, David Maslanka鈥檚 epic work, will be performed in the second half.

The concert is free and open to the public.
